Hello, I had an experience with dr Gary brownstein. For one thing his wife was NEVER a nice person to deal with as she works in the office. I had a tummy tuck 15 yrs ago done by him since then I had a burn accident and wanted him to look at it to see if he could help me remove the scar.it I called the office to make an appt and his wife actually said it was office procedure to charge 125.00 for consult fee. Really ?? Didn't you make enough money off of me as your previous patient that you wouldn't even do this as a courtesy?? Its always about the money where's the compation for the patients?

I have read the reviews on this site and have had the most wonderful experiences with Dr Gary Brownstein over the past several years. I have had multiple procedures performed and have found Dr. Brownstein to be knowledgeable, patient, and skilled in his profession. For those that rely on Internet reviews, I encourage you to talk with Dr. Brownstein in person. We all know those that write reviews are not necessarily patients. They can be competitors, etc., who may not have the same attributes as Dr. Brownstein.

Dr Gary M Brownstein - BOTCHED! BEWARE! DR. GARY BROWNSTEIN... - Image 2
BOTCHED!!! Dr. Gary Brownstein is more interested in his patients money than he is in the welfare of his patients. I paid Dr. Gary Brownstein $7300.00 for an upper body lift procedure that had to be cancelled as I was diagnosed with ductal carcinoma insitu which is an early stage of breast cancer. I had a procedure with an oncologist where a lump on my breast was removed. After the procedure, Dr. Brownstein has refused to proceed with the upper body lift as he indicates that my cancellation and other mitigating factors cost $7300.00 even though I have offered him additional funds to cover the cancellation. The topper here is that he has refused to refund my money which was paid in cash. For some reason, he wanted a higher fee if I used a credit card or paid by check so I paid with cash and I do have the receipts! Feel free to contact me at nursetracy7@***.com for further information regarding this money hungry physician.

This Doctor is arrogant and incompetent

A dispute between two competing groups of plastic surgeons spilled into the Camden courts this week when a doctor filed suit against his former partner, accusing him of slander and defamation.

Dr. Joseph H.

Reichman and his current partner, Dr. Gary M. Brownstein, filed suit against Reichman's former partner, Dr. Arthur S.

Brown, who is now the chairman of Cooper Hospital-University Medical Center's Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

Their suit said that Brown and his current partner, Dr. Lenora Barot - also a defendant in the suit - began in February to circulate rumors among nurses, staff, physicians and patients designed to "maliciously defame and slander" Reichman and Brownstein.

The suit was filed Wednesday in Superior Court in Camden and seeks compensatory and punitive damages. Brown, who otherwise declined to comment, denied that there was a dispute between the two sets of doctors.

According to the suit, Brown and Barot told people that Reichman and Brownstein had committed "medical malpractice" through both their actions and their omissions, particularly when it came to plastic surgery on babies and children.

Those rumors, the suit said, had "interfered with the business and profession" of Reichman and Brownstein's Cherry Hill practice, on Brace Road. In addition, the suit said, Brown and Barot interfered with the Cherry Hill doctors' relationships with patients and with the staff at Cooper Hospital.

In addition to being faculty members at the medical school, Brown and Barot have a plastic-surgery practice at Three Cooper Plaza in Camden. Reichman went to Cooper in 1981, after his residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. For the next two years, he said, he and Brown were partners in a private plastic-surgery practice and were faculty members. In 1983, Reichman established his own practice.

Reichman would not detail why the two separated, referring questions to his lawyer, who could not be reached yesterday. "It's actually sad," he said.

"There should be other mechanisms to resolve issues such as this. It's unfortunate that there's no other arena."

Dr. Gary Brownstein Plastic Surgeon Overpriced Poor Results Arrogant Botched Pushy Useless Rip-off Solipsistic Scam Fake Unscrupulous Bait and Switch Weird www.cherryhillcosmeticsurgery.com

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Dr. Gary Brownstein was featured in a very expensive health and beauty magazine in a spread featuring purportedly "best plastic surgeons in America." The copy that accompanied the feature created the impression of a well-known, extremely professional, very highly regarded facial plastic surgeon. I had recently relocated and had previously received Botox treatment from a wonderful, professional plastic surgeon in another state; her practice was exceptional, yet affordable. She was very kind, understanding and consistently excellent. In addition to owning and running a very upscale spa and clinic, she also worked at a nearby hospital and was well-known regionally as an exceptional plastic surgeon who worked with patients who had been in catastrophic accidents as well as infants born with disfiguring birth defects. I located her, initially, through a friend who had been in a terrible motorcycle accident. She literally saved his face and one can barely tell that his face, following the accident, was an unrecognizable mangled mess of blood, flesh and bone. Again, I saw her for regular Botox injections, nothing even approaching the magnitude of work that my friend required following his accident, but I trusted her implicitly and I was hoping to find an equally skilled and ethical doctor after relocating to the Cherry Hill area. I did not know anyone at all when I first moved to New Jersey. I moved here in order to accept a job offer. I purchased the beauty magazine to read during a flight east to visit relatives for the holidays. I was impressed with the feature spread (which I later deduced was nothing more than a high-priced self-promotional advertisement that Dr. Brownstein had paid $$$ in order to be included in the magazine and the faux-stellar rating stated in the special issue of the periodical.) I assume that Dr. Brownstein also pays internet Plastic Surgery sites for fake five star ratings. In retrospect, and very strongly swayed by the magazine feature, I made an appointment to visit Dr. Brownstein for a consultation, which, unlike most plastic surgeons, cost $100 just to meet the doctor. Cleverly, the money would be applied to the price of any work done the day of the consult. Back home, $100 would have covered a part of a full Botox treatment that wouldn't require a return visit until nearly three months had passed. Well, everything is bigger in New Jersey, including doctor's egos and the prices they charge. I hugely regret not taking the $100 consultation fee as the red flag - the first of many - that it quite truly was. I wish I had never even met this "doctor." I was treated to a shocking self-congratulatory song and dance that included a lengthy before and after slide show, which included, purportedly, at any rate, images of the Dr.'s own wife! Red flag #2. Who uses their wife to coerce potential patients??? This guy actually has placed a photo of his 'beautiful' wife Sydney on his website! I was also the only patient present for the duration of my visit, which lasted nearly two hours - red flag #3. Why, if he truly was "world-famous" was his waiting room empty? I nearly fainted when I was told that a simple Botox treatment would cost almost five hundred dollars. Already $100 in the hole, I felt stuck between a rock and a hard place. I was really baffled by the extraordinarily high cost of treatment and I had been inundated for forty-five minutes with Dr. Brownstein's ridiculous, bragging and outrageous claims, namely that he could make me look 25 years younger. I am 52 years old and, like many women of color, did look younger than my actual age. From the get-go, Dr. Gary Brownstein was pushing me to have a face-lift or at least a liquid face lift with a wide variety of fillers. A friend in California had recently had a "liquid face lift" and was thrilled with her results. I admit, I was curious, but I was not prepared for the price of the service. I couldn't afford more than $2,000 and he told me that we could "get a start" towards a full treatment. Before I knew it, I was in a treatment room; I did get the Botox injections, but also multiple filler injections - some of which were placed in very odd places - large blobs of filler just below both corners of my mouth and also under one of my eyes - not both. It looked decidedly peculiar. He said that he couldn't do the "other side" of my face unless I paid for another syringe of filler. I felt like I had no choice, unless I wanted to walk around indefinitely with a wildly asymmetrical-looking face. I left his office minus nearly four thousand dollars for results that were mediocre at best. I am honestly not sure what he used as filler. He SAID it was Juvederm, but aside from the weird near-lip lumps, the rest of whatever it was dissipated within a week and it was impossible to tell that I'd had anything done at all. The Botox injections were, blessedly, legit, but I was stuck with two weird, inexplicable lumps on my face, and without any evidence at all of the multiple syringes of filler he had purportedly used in the tear trough to help diminish the appearance of under eye bags. I was furious. I called his office and was quickly shooed away and treated like a delusional geriatric patient. I don't know why I was such an easy mark for Dr. Brownstein. It started out seemingly very simply, but ended in a financial nightmare. I had spent a fortune relocating for my new job and really, truly could not afford the price tag for his inept, possibly fake filler treatment. Fillers should not just vanish within a week; most last about a year. I ended up seeing another doctor to get rid of the weird lip lumps and to have proper filler treatments that lasted and didn't just vanish inexplicably. Dr. Gary Brownstein is a a fast talker. I was very embarrassed to have to so quickly see another doctor - after doing an enormous amount of research - and was shocked to discover my new doctor had seen many unhappy Dr. Brownstein victims in order to fix his inept "work," which Dr. Gary claims is a supreme art. The man is delusional and a thief. Please don't fall for his fast-talking, pushy, sales pitch (bolstered by his dutiful wife and staff). His practice is unethical and could potentially bankrupt a person. I don't think he actually views "patients" as people - just as puppets from whom to glean as much cash as possible. I am really embarrassed at my own gullibility and I would really like my money back. I did not get what I came for, and until I saw a new doctor (free consultation) who dissolved the weird bumps and then used real fillers. RUN don't walk away from Cherry Hill Cosmetic Surgery and 'Dr. Frankenstein!'

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Botched! I am a former patient of Dr. Gary Brownstein, M.D., a rude plastic surgeon practicing at the Cherry Hill Cosmetic Surgery Center. The following is my opinion as of 3-6-15 (1 year after surgery) This man is only in it for the money: (Note: I learned from healthgrades.com, that Dr. Gary Brownstein was disciplined by the State of New Jersey Board of Medicine in 2010 for allowing an unlicensed person to practice medicine in his office - by using a laser in the treatment of his patient. He was ordered to pay a $3,000 fine, costs of $4,685.19, complete a Legal & Ethical Implications in Medicine Physician's Survival Guide Laws & Rules Course, and perform 50 hours of community service. I wrote below, and write here, I should have done my homework). I regret that Dr. Brownstein performed my upper and lower blepharoplasty (cosmetic eyelid surgery). I should have done my homework and used an oculoplastic surgeon - that is, a cosmetic surgeon whose speciality is cosmetic eye surgery. Although Dr. Brownstein performs facial surgery, his focus is breast surgery at least, as it appears from his website. I am a 63 year old professional woman. Dr. Brownstein spent a very short time with me during his pre-op evaluation/consultation (9-12-13) which was only 4 days before surgery on 9-16-11. The short time he spent with me should have been a red flag, but it seemed impressive (or so I thought) that he sized up things so quickly. Cosmetic surgeon offices I later contacted were surprised to hear of the short time that Dr. Brownstein spent with me. Dr. Brownstein did not discuss with me what results I did not want from surgery. He did not ask for photographs (recent or otherwise). He did not discuss my myasthenia gravis (a nerve and muscle disorder which a plastic surgeon informed me can sometimes create or increase ptosis (slight drooping) of eyelids and/or eyebrows. I listed my illness on Dr. Brownstein's patient intake form. Dr. Brownstein did not discuss, before surgery, the possibility of any negative result I now have, such as - My eyes now appear smaller in width and are rounder (they were almond shaped). Neither Dr. Brownstein, his staff, ever discussed the possibility of these negative results. When I initially asked Dr. Brownstein about the appearance of my eyes, he said that he cannot change the shape of eyes (i.e., eyeballs). I knew that of course, but the appearance of eyes are often changed by blepharoplasty - after all, that's one of the main reasons why people have the surgery. Yes, Dr. Gary Brownstein, M.D. did a good job in removing the bags under my eyes (which created a shadow beneath each bag). However, now beneath each eye is a dark circle particularly when I even slightly tilt my head. Dr. Brownstein tried to tell me that the darkness is from dark skin pigmentation (which cannot be reduced by blepharoplasty). The result looks almost as the original bags. Another plastic surgeon told me post-surgery that the darkness under my eyes may be from a slight hollowness causing a shadow which could have be from excessive fat removed and/or not properly transitioned from the bottom of the lower lid to the upper cheek area (according to an ocular surgeon I saw well after my surgery). Neither Dr. Brownstein nor his staff ever informed me, either verbally or in writing, of the possibility of this result. Dr. Brownstein removed the sutures a week after surgery. It was very painful - Dr. Brownstein told me that apparently the anesthetic had worn off. Great. I believe at the next appointment, Dr. Brownstein's assistant demonstrated how to massage the areas, but only after I asked her to do so. However, I later realized that she didn't tell me how often to massage, how long, whether to use a gel, creme, etc., and, if so, what type. A few hours after I left the office (late Friday afternoon), I called the office but it was closed. I called again and left a message stating that the matter involved an emergency (although it wasn't, but it is was important to me). I spoke with Dr. Brownstein's answering service who was helpful but she advised me to call or see Dr. Brownstein's office on Monday. I went to Dr. Brownstein's Cherry Hill office on Monday and a member of his staff told me they never had a patient who called so many times as me. I replied I didn't care. Almost 7 months after surgery, I still have significant, noticeable scars. I have recently read that if Dr. Brownstein had used a different procedure for my lower eyelids (transconjunctival lower blepharoplasty) there would not have been any scars. This newer procedure utilizes a laser, not a scapel, and is performed from the inside of the lower eyelid. In conclusion, I strongly recommend against using Dr. Gary Brownstein for cosmetic eye lift surgery. Do your homework first and don't assume anything.

When you have a lower lid blepharoplasty they pull fat from around your eye which causes your eye to sink back in your head. Your eyes will never be beautiful again there’s nothing you can do.

Is there a way that I can contact you as I am considering the same surgery.

I regrettably had an identical experience with Gary Brownstein in 2012. He charged nearly $6000 which was far above typical liposuction costs however he convinced me that he was worth it.

I was left with a severely deformed midsection.

The sides & back are asymmetrical and lumpy. My belly button is no longer in the center. Bi Weekly Post op visits consisted of draining fluid from a concaved area that was also extremely painful. He told me the uneven and recessed areas are just swelling and the natural stages of healing....

I later learned that this happens when a incompetent surgeon actually cuts into the stomach muscle with the cannula.

Today I am looking to have this corrected by a competent Dr as I am still too embarrassed to take my shirt off.

Please stay away from Gary Brownstein.

He is not be trusted.

For those who are considering going to see Dr. Gary Brownstein, I share my genuiness in hopes of bringing great awareness of this doctor, so you will not be in the same position as me. So please read this. Dr. Gary Brownstein is an incompetent, disgraceful plastic surgeon who ruined my face, and I am only a young adult mind you. The conservative procedure I had wanted, resulted in new unwanting issues. And to boot, he is a charming scam artist who robbed me of my money by doing an additional unneccesary procedure I did not initially come in for (additional $3,000), and I am also shelling out more money to correct whatever damage I can. Also, in order to get a copy of my medical photographs, the office charged me a substantial fee which I paid for, which I recently found out is atypical and currently disputing b/c perhaps this is illegal. So, if you are considering this doctor, I can not urge you enough to STAY AWAY because he is very care-free in his approach and does not have your best intentions at heart. He is unequivocally unskilled and is a scammer only in it for the money, which is ludicrous because certain things are not reversible. This is your face, your life and your money! And please do not be fooled by him being located off of ritzy 5th avenue or the hiring of good PR. Its the final outcome that proves everything and I know now there are others who have suffered. As for his office staff-Sydney- his mistress, she is horrible too because she is his shield. After some time, when it became apparent that he messed up my face, I decided to call the office in hopes of booking an appointment- for the purpose of confronting him to show what he did. I felt it would be cathartic for me and perhaps by him seeing this before his eyes, he would feel guilty. Although I did not convey all this over the phone when I had called and simply asked for a consultation, she knew that I was not a new patient looking to have a procedure done and probably sensed that there was a level of dissatisfaction. I also knew at this point that there seemed to have been a trend with complaints of his work, so I'm sure this was not something new to the old hag. So the warm friendly staff that they once were, became rude and unaccommodating, by purposely saying that she couldn't schedule me for an appointment in more than 2 months!! And with no remorse. Having a good inclination that they were being biased and not giving me proper treatment as a patient, I had my friend call the office to see what would happen if she blindly made an appointment. Sure enough, she was able to book within a week. When I called back to get an explanation as to why there was a substantial time difference in me getting an appointment than my friend, there was no reasonable defense. The illogical reasoning that was given was that she was a new patient which takes precedence. So obviously Sydney and Dr. Gary Brownstein do not care about anything long term with any of the patients. Ironically, the protocol of any visit involves an intial consultation,so it really makes no difference in that regard. Lastly, it would typically make sense and be righteous that an older patient would have a greater opportunity to see the doctor first, but because I was not beneficial for them anymore because they got their money already and the damage was done, they felt it was ok to be unethical and discriminate. This is technically not just unfair, but illegal. In conclusion, regardless of the damage I have endured on my face, or the hardship now of undoing the damage, I will not compromise my integrity and will do whatever I can to spread the word on this awful doctor. Dr. Gary M Brownstein RUINED my body and REFUSED to fix it!!!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I was referred to Doctor Gary Brownstein of Cherry Hill. I met with Sydney-his wife who works for him. After meeting with Dr. Brownstein and hearing of his techniques and experiences in the field I decided to trust him to perform my first surgery in April of 2013. That surgery went well. I then decided to trust him with a much more invasive surgery... a breast lift and implant. Dr. Brownstein assured my husband and myself that he was confident that he could achieve the results I wanted and that all would go well. We decided to move forward with my surgery. I went in for Surgery around November 2013. The surgery seemed to go well at first. On day three I was experiencing a lot of pain and puss around my bandages. I went to Cherry Hill and saw the doctor and he said I must be experiencing an allergy to the adhesive in the tape. I also noticed that my areolas were much differently shaped. Dr. Brownstein assured me that all would be fine once I healed. After 3 months of waiting to heal I was not only left with 3/4 inch wide vertical scars on each breast, but I also still had very uneven egg shaped areolas and my right breast sat approximately 2.5 inches higher than my left. After going round and round with the staff and with Dr. Brownstein, they decided to redo my surgery to correct the few issues that I had. I was however responsible for the fee of anesthesia again ($600) I went back in for a correction in May 2014. Dr. Brownstein now added a secondary scar below each of my *** (approx. 4 inches on under each). I was hopefully that all had been resolved this time... however I soon found out that it was not. As I sit here today my surgery is even more botched than before. I now have additional scars and I still have very uneven ***. After a few moths I went back to Dr. Brownstein and sat with Sydney and my husband. I showed them my *** and Dr. Brownstein agreed that the surgery still wasn’t correct. He claimed I needed an additional. I asked him to refer me to another surgeon for a second opinion of what needed to be done to correct it. . I went to another Doctor, paid the $250 office visit fee and showed him my horror. Needless to say he obviously told me I need yet another surgery to correct what Dr. Brownstein attempted to do twice. The Doctor told me a lot about the unnecessary scars that Dr. Brownstein had created on me and he also explained what was wrong as he photoed my ***. He then showed me how completely off both of my *** are in a computer program, my nipples aren't centered, they are two different shapes, they should’ve been made smaller, I have major scarring and most importantly my right breast is 1.5 inches higher than my left and floats around whenever I lay down causing me a huge discomfort. The Doctor priced my corrective surgery at nearly $13,000.00. After all of this I tried to reach Dr Brownstein at least 25 times. I left messages which were never returned. After 45 days of unsuccessfully reaching someone there I finally reached Sydney by luck of her answering the phone. Dr Brownstein told me he would like to be present during surgery (he called it "scrub-in".) I told him that I just wanted my money back to have it fixed. I have not received arefund Dr. Gary Brownstein was MY surgeon. Dr. Brownstein is a doctor and ALL doctors take a hippocratic oath to do NO HARM. Dr. Brownstein certainly has not abided by his oath. Till this day I am still unable to get my medical records and photos for my new surgeon. My new surgeon is actually filing a grievance with the medical board about this. LADIES AND GENTLEMEN BEWARE of Dr Gary M Brownstein!

I had a similar experience with Dr Gary Brownstein in 2012.

I paid $5800 for liposuction and was left with a completely disfigured midsection... My belly button in no longer in the center.

All areas he worked on are lumpy and uneven.

Notice his lack of before and after pictures.

Beware of this man. He is not a competent plastic surgeon.

DR GARY BROWNSTEIN BOTCHED MY NOSE JOB

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Dr. Gary Brownstein represented upon our consulation and interview that he was especially skilled and trained in rhinoplasty surgery. He further indicated that the photo rendition he took of my daughter would come out similar if not better than what the demonstrated photo suggested. My daughter has since had to have Dr. Brownstein redo is work as her first surgery left her with a pointed ball at the tip of her nose along with the crooked shape that we had sought his services to correct. He also does not have the aesthetic talent or ability to sculpt a beautiful nose and left her with too much skin and cartilege on the tip of her nose. WE then waited a year for everything to settle in before we attempted the second surgery wherein he took extra cartilege from her ear (which was quite painful) to help the nose stay straight and at that time, he was to also correct the excess of the tip. The nose is improved slightly but not at all what a $10,000.00 rhinoplasty should look like from a so called "expert" in the field in Cherry Hill. I am sorry we chose him out of all the many other doctors we consulted with. He mentioned that he had worked with another very renound Plastic Surgeon in Philadelphia. I am not even sure if he really did from the result of this nose job. I have first hand knowledge of that doctor adn that doctors work and his results were and still are timeless and beautiful. If Dr. Brownstein ever worked with this doctor, his eyes must have been shut. Please do not seek his services out for any rhinoplasty surgery. Possibly, his work on other parts of the body may be fine, but definitely not an expert in aesthetic procedures of the nose from our experience.

Dr Gary Brownstein is an incompetent plastic surgeon

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
After spending 7 months researching, I decided to go to Dr. Gary Brownstein for breast augmentation. I first heard about him in a local magazine here in Cherry Hill, New Jersey-- that he specialized in breast surgery, revision breast surgery and mastectomy. At that time I didn't know nor did I imagine that there were so many victims who had been permanently disfigured by this doctor. Just 'google' him and check the results of the first few pages. Dr. Brownstein seemed very confident and assured me that he could give me a result that looked natural. I only wanted one size more. Going to this arrogant doctor has been the worst mistake of my life and I cry every day. My implants are now shifting and getting closer to the armpits. I have horrible incisions, my nipples are lopsided and I can't use a swim suit anymore. I was a semi-professional swimmer and living with these implants is a nightmare. I have travelled all over South Jersey to find a doctor capable of fixing this mess, but most plastic surgeons do not want to touch me because Dr. Brownstein caused nerve damage, too. Needless to say, my dating life has been tremendously affected also and I feel very self conscious wherever I go. Even if I have to try a dress on, my *** just don't look right-- even with clothes on. I'm very disappointed that nothing has been done to stop Dr. Brownstein. He still performs surgeries and leaves patients unhappy and then puts the blame on them. Please, please, please, if anybody knows of any Doctor who can fix this mess, drop me a line. Perhaps I will have to go to Philadelphia or New York. I'm willing to pay any amount of money to look normal again. I've been very unlucky with plastic surgery and wouldn't wish this fate on my worst enemy. Myrna Freedman

Beware! Dr Gary Brownstein did a terrible breast augmentation

I had breast augmentation with Dr. Gary Brownstein earlier this year and now one breast is dropping more than one inch below the other breast. The bottoming out was noticed within a month after surgery and my implants are only 330 ccs and are under the muscle so clearly the dropping was due to surgeon error of cutting too large of a pocket. A different plastic surgeon seemed shocked reading my operative report and said that Dr. Brownstein's's incision was very aggressive according to what Dr Brownstein himself wrote in the report. Worst of all when I went to Dr Brownstein with the problem he acted like it wasn't so bad and seemed to not even know what the term 'bottoming out' meant! Any plastic surgeon should know this. He pretty much blew me off and intimidated me. Bottoming out is very difficult to correct once it is done wrong the first time and I have to pay thousands and go thru another surgery to try to fix my now messed up ***. I am Marcia Braude.
